Sometime in the year 2000, I started working on my own car with the usual tuning measures such as sports seats, suspension, rims and so on. But then I realized that the engine performance didn’t match the concept. As so often, I wanted more power. So

• Air filter
• Exhaust system
• Engine
• Turbocharger
• Intercooler etc.

and the whole package then has to be optimally tuned by Remapping, so I started to take a closer look at the subject and am still fully immersed in it today.

Good cooperation with turbo + engine builders was essential in this respect, and very good relationships with other tuners, suppliers and other partners have developed and grown steadily.

Without having planned it, the topic of chip tuning had arrived at our company. A short time later, we also began tuning our customers’ engines. At that time, chip tuning was still in its infancy, but the results were unique.

However, the effort involved in chip tuning back then was worlds greater than it is today. In the beginning, the so-called chip memory module usually had to be desoldered directly in order to access the data. That was always very time-consuming. Things got much better from the 2000 model year onwards. From this point onwards, flash modules (rewritable modules) were installed in the engine control unit of most models. This was a huge advantage for the chip tuner because since then the engine control unit can usually be read/written very easily via the OBD interface. (OBD On Board Diagnostic).
